After publishing yesterday’s blog post about Millennium Fandom Bar’s Steampunk Ball, I realized that I had a whole slew of images from their Matrix-themed New Years party. Instead of a typical gig, this was actually a random little shoot. I happened to have my camera and a single flash unit in my car, and the owner needed pictures, so I went ahead and did my thing. This led to me coming back for the Steampunk Ball, so it worked out pretty well for me.
As you can see, they were all pretty serious about the theme, with one patron even dressing up as the Woman in Red from the original Matrix film. There was also owner Alex as Morpheus, handing out red “pills” like, well, the candy that they were.
In addition to the many, many well thought out Matrix costumes (the flippin’ KEYMASTER??), there were also plenty of other delightfully fun costumes on display that night. As seen below, these included Bebop and Rocksteady from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the female version of Thor. It was, by all accounts, an incredibly swanky evening.
Seriously though, go to Millennium Fandom Bar. It’s the real deal.
